The heart of the Carrara marble deposits, the Fantiscritti basin, was born just after the slopes of Mount Croce, just after the small village of Miseglia. Thanks to its modern square, this basin gives the opportunity to tourists and citizens to attend not only magnificent concerts and shows, during the warmer months, but to enter the former railway tunnel, and not only, with very few steps, to reach the heart of the mountain itself, arriving at the Ravaccione gallery, an immense cathedral excavated inside. Moreover, this basin has a notable visual effect thanks to its historical constructions, including the bridges that allowed the marble railway to connect with the other two basins of the city: Colonnata, and Torano, and thus allowing the arrival of all the blocks, downstream.
