To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Carrara academy, the municipalities of Carrara and Massa are organizing an exhibition, to be held next summer, dedicated to the first director of the academy, as well as the great sculptor Cybei. Giovanni Antonio Cybei, primary director of the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts, protagonist of the marble statuary, was the author of prestigious commissions for the main Italian and European courts. His works will be exhibited during the exhibition which will also represent the celebrations. of the 250 years since the foundation of the Academy. For the occasion, numerous artist’s masterpieces will be exhibited together for the first time in comparison with significant works by contemporary artists, thanks to exceptional loans granted by important museums and collections both Italian and foreigners.
